Intramuscular (IM) and intravenous (IV) injections of high dose vitamins and minerals are used to treat nutritional deficiencies, improve energy, and support immune function.

We are pleased to offer IV iron infusions to the Victoria community. Intravenous iron is a great option for correcting iron deficiency and iron deficiency anemia if you don’t tolerate oral supplements, if oral supplements are not working quickly enough, or if anemia is severe, among other reasons. It usually only takes 1-2 treatments for iron stores to normalize, which is much quicker compared to oral supplements.

Dr. Chelsea Cole, ND is our licensed naturopathic physician certified to administer IV iron infusions.

Acupuncture

Our Naturopathic Doctors are certified to provide acupuncture treatments. Specific acupuncture points are selected to help re-establish balance in the body.

At Juniper Family Health, we offer a range of naturopathic aesthetic services focused on optimizing both inner and outer wellness. Our services combine the expertise of naturopathic physicians with the latest aesthetic techniques to enhance your natural beauty.

Injectable Treatments:

Neuromodulator injections (such as Botox and Nuceiva) are commonly used to smooth out wrinkles and fine lines on the face. By temporarily paralyzing specific facial muscles, neuromodulator injections help reduce and prevent the appearance of wrinkles caused by repetitive movements and expressions. This treatment is commonly used for addressing frown lines, crow's feet, forehead lines, and drooping eyelids.

Microneedling:

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that stimulates the skin's natural healing processes. This treatment involves the use of a device with fine needles to create microscopic punctures in the skin. The process triggers the body's natural collagen and elastin production, resulting in improved skin texture, reduced scarring, and a more youthful appearance. Microneedling is beneficial for addressing concerns such as acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores, and uneven skin tone.

Cervical cancer screening is a vital component of health care, aimed at detecting abnormalities in the cervix before they progress into cancer. Our screening options at Juniper Family Health include traditional Pap tests conducted by healthcare providers and a new self-screening method for HPV testing. We adhere to the new BC Cancer guidelines that recommend cervical cancer screening every 3-5 years for individuals between the ages of 25 and 69.

Self-Screening for Cervical Cancer:

Our clinic now offers a convenient self-screening option for cervical cancer using at-home kits. This vaginal swab test detects the presence of HPV, a virus linked to cervical cancer. To request a self-screening kit, you can fill out an online request form or contact BC Cancer's toll-free number at 1-877-702-6566. While this method offers convenience, it may not be suitable for everyone. Individuals experiencing symptoms, pregnant individuals, and those using a pessary should opt for a Pap test with a healthcare provider instead.

Educational Consults are best suited for patients residing outside of British-Columbia. If you reside in BC, please consider establishing care under Naturopathic Medicine. During these consults, Dr. Khanghura can provide you with information about your current diagnosis, and available research regarding treatment approaches.

Given the limitations of our Naturopathic Physician licenses in BC, our ND's cannot order labs, imaging, prescriptions or diagnose conditions for patients residing outside of BC. These consults should be considered educational in nature, and do not substitute proper medical care.

Please note that as these consults are not considered medical services, they are not billable under extended health benefits. If you have any questions about the nature of these visits, or how they can benefit you, please contact our office.
